Few will remember, but we once had a "Where are the women" panel at SXSW. I think it was the same year as the first "Blogging While Black" - both lasted a few years and were wonderful. I miss those conversations, which still matter despite being overrun by hate. Anyone remember?

I do. I do. I miss the whole sxsw experience the way it used to be, in its - what I consider - hay day.

It kind of was "ours" and that made it more than special. I miss it too. I don't miss the industry, but the good people of it, very much. LIKE YOU! xo

And he brought a small but very real fire extinguisher and sat it on the table. A lot of people were mad I invited a man to a talk about women when he was at the time the main person writing about the challenge of finding women speakers! Doing what was done to you never works.

SXSW used to be our geek camp! It's gotten too big, too crowded and I can't handle it now. I loved it in the days we were emerging as an industry!
