I just had yet ANOTHER woman tell me "You should find yourself another husband to take care of you." What is with that? My mother deeply instilled a fierce sense of independence in me, so much so I have trouble with real intimacy. Why *women* tho? Men don't ever say such a thing.

My husband gets VERY frustrated when I don’t let him take care of me enough. I’ve been learning to surrender to him for some self-care. He is hands off when it comes to my work schedule & professional events. It makes for better teamwork.

The one regret I have about Ray is he fooled me until he couldn't anymore by letting me think he was healthier so I could travel for work and time with my Mom. I can't be mad about it though, it was a gesture of him supporting me being me the best way he knew how. 🌸💜😀

Ultimately, you do you. You’ve certainly earned it and deserve it.

Even when the message at home is the opposite. My mom was a socialist and feminist and particularly hard on me. I now see what she was fighting socially and feel grateful for her attempts against the status quo of the time.

Nothing. I'd love it! But I'm of a different mindset. I married the one who cared for me. He's gone from us now, so who needs the trauma and drama? LOL!
