In Arizona and Nevada (I'm from Brooklyn) I watched as the police became more and more militarized. Yes, it's a culture of fear-mongering Fear breeds hate. How can a Border Patrol agent let a 7 year old girl in custody DIE? Fear mongering is at the heart of our very uncivil war.

Yeah it's an interesting thing to see, and of course connects to the racism and white supremacist modes of thought. Easy to turn people monstrous when you traffic in fear

I think people have to also have a learned or familial (genetic?) fear of what they perceive as potential enemies. There is something connecting to a pre-existing fear. I just look at the upcoming faces in the House versus Senate and all the glass ceilings broken. January, come!
