FINALLY! This is long overdue and voice assistants need a lot more human intelligence intentionally placed. Of course "Profiteers" auto-correcting to "Prophet's Tears" is the sort of amusement I enjoy :P Thanks @AccessibleJoe xo/m #a11y #w3c #voice #standards #EmergingTech #hope

Siri dictation can be frustrating. Because of Parkinson’s I find it very difficult to type. I’m using Siri dictation to dictate this tweet. Sometimes it transcribes every single word as I speak it, then when I press the keyboard icon and it changes the words.

Then I have to tap on each word that is incorrect, see if there is an option to select a different word, or highlight the word and re-speak it, and if that doesn’t work type the word. All with a Tremor. Then it capitalizes a word. Sometimes I correct it, sometimes not.

It's the same with Google. I had high hopes. To be fair - this is very difficult technology for so so many reasons!

I worked on speech recognition software for Xerox Medical Systems in the 1980s. One of the systems we tried was from Kurzweil. It used a separate computer for speech recognition with a cable to the keyboard input on the computer. It was hard then as it is now, but better now.
