I have found that if you keep pressing the button for one minute, the green light comes one minute earlier :-)

For me it always comes on in the other direction so I'm stuck waiting another cycle of traffic before I can cross the street LOL

At a in a hotel in April the AC had a sign“Thermostat on wall”. It didn’t do anything. I was having problems breathing so I called the front desk who sent person up. When the person saw that I was hyperventilating they went to the AC unit and turned it down.

Often perception is more important than reality an a UI. That’s why most sites have gotten rid of the waiting or processing graphics.
