Thank you both for such an infusion of inspiration, energy and optimism! I don't get a lot of that down here in the rather difficult Arizona which I love for its beauty, despise the policies and politicians. 48th contiguous State 46 in education? To me that explains a lot! XO m

When I went to take the photo it was to honor Honey Kitteh for #Caturday but it appears as if I'm the one being worshiped and adored for once. Or manipulated, coerced, and p0wned...

I've seen one other owl about 2 miles north about 15 years ago which flew onto a balcony railing and sat there staring at me as I sat staring at it, surprised at its enormity and audacity! My owl hangs out in a tree, nearbycoyotes, wildcats, javelina, reptiles, snakes, spiders...

What about a bird, in my case, a rather large owl who won't fly away and is either making musical recommendations of either The Who or The Hu or wants to know who when I have introduced myself several times, asked him who only be asked again best guess now? Abbott and Costello?😉

How unfortunate. I was recently remembering the last working group meeting I could attend for CSS which well not quite the biosphere you have to admit that University of Arizona campus had it's on kind of charm 😉

Adorable! In 2006? Video and audio for the web was mostly downloaded. No iPhone or Android. IE7 released.WordPress turned 3. Facebook 2, Twitter just born. Aaron Swartz turned 20. I was 45. Time Magazine named Web 2.0 Person of the Year. George W Bush was president of the USA.😂
Is the talk still available online?

I'd love to see some of those the earliest we started seeing any kind of video recordings especially of a full day workshop back then which would have been very large files indeed!

Oh we didn't do video and audio most of the time it was just too hard it was 2006 smartphones we were plugging digital cameras into our notebooks. Even then the quality for video and audio? We hadn't resolved those issues just yet. Not so sure we really have LOL

Speaking of web history the first International Web conference was held in 1994. It lives on and will celebrate its 32nd anniversary in Austin, Texas. I'm shouting out a special topic call for papers specific to web historians and those who were there! www2023.thewebconf.org/calls…

"I'm really concerned that we're breaking stuff in the name of goodness and all that users and developers will walk away with is 'stuff broke.'" - from "Don't Break the Web" by Chris Wilson, arguably the most enduring quote about any aspect of #webdevelopment in history, 2006.

Once on that jet with its questionably repaired small part hopped Sydney hold over in Singapore then Heathrow with a hold over for nearly 5 hours for a connection to Madrid (which has a very cool airport) and then a prop plane to Oviedo. That was brutal! Worst puddle jump ever.

The href joke makes sense for its time bouncing from place to place longest flight and delay ever took 40 hours Sydney Australia to Oviedo Spain. British Airways jet missing part that had to be replaced. Flown in overnight from Boeing outside Seattle. And no flights which hopped

I vote for you to return to pronouncing it incorrectly. At the very least required yourself saying it just for me and post it somewhere so I can enjoy it over and over again LOL
And for the kids and newcomers like folks in #100DaysOfCode here's me doing a workshop in 2006 in Spain on, I kid you kids not, "Designing for Web 2.0" It slays me in retrospect. We didn't even have iPhones or Androids yet! #webdevelopment #webdesign #web2
