Oh they were both worth burning and they burn a long time cuz well mine was not quite a Frankenbook the other one was.
It also was plagiarized the guy even included my mistakes which is considered one of the cornerstones of plagiarism in legal terms and he was never to work again. No reparation other than that.

I really hope you didn't have to pay too much for the trauma I just caused you Tom I really am sorry but you know it's the truth also my second book was all about CSS tables and frames 1997ish it was so bad but I hope I made up for it in the ensuing years;-)

Lol spacer gifts they were certainly not gifts. I'm using non Draconian error handling to manage Twitter because of no editing ability. Somehow that's not funny but it made sense to me nonetheless

True story Dave Raggett wrote the first specs for tables at w3c and his proposal did in fact have a table-based layouts however not spacer gifts and nested crap. That was around and but it was really popularized by David Siegel who apologized for breaking the web and then left!
I taught classes once upon a long time ago and table-based layouts and how to do them in an accessible way and linearize text and deal with quirks in implementations across browsers it was a long time ago but it seems like yesterday and I miss everything but spacers they sucked
