From those deemed severely mentally ill, alcoholics, drug addicts, homeless, whirlpool, and his own Native American backgrounds propelled him to return to reservations and treat native peoples. He suggested a change from the short acting Lorazepam to clonazepam to begin tapering.

His experience after returning from Vietnam with severe combat PTSD and what we learned later severe and deadly illness from agent orange exposure that ultimately led to his death in 2017. He did not become a conventional PA rather chose to serve the most underserved populations.

Thank you so much. This is self-initiated and the last Pharmaceutical in the artillery of medical and psychiatric meds that have used throughout my life. My husband was a physician's assistant one of the US first as he came back from Vietnam where he served as a Navy corpsman.

If you cannot find sympathy, if you cannot find yourself thinking there but for Grace go i? If we do not teach our children better self care, if we do not stop abuse, war and predatory profiteering off of suffering we are more doomed than we are already to inevitable Extinction.

Whether we are looking at science, math, law, medicine, art, music, comedy, and Psychiatry itself it is often the most giving that have been self-harming, suicidal, riddled with pain and suffering, spiraling into self medication, despair, acts of violence against others and self.

It is a very old saying that genius and Madness are often the same. Take a look at your Heroes and heroines the ones who have died by suicide, by substance abuse and alcoholism, or whose lives have been devastated by abuse, war, homelessness, bankruptcy, hatred, marginalization.

From Winston Churchill to Kurt Cobain, Abraham Lincoln to Millions unnamed conditions affecting behavior affect us all as a species. Illness and disease do not discriminate. But humans do and mistreat and stigmatize conditions based on economic, racial, gender, and other biases.

Have people ask themselves why you don't get that serotonin blood test? I know the reason why and I'm sure that the Physicians and psychiatrists reading this as well as many patients also know the reason why but lay people? The press in general? I challenge everyone to find out.

Have you ever wondered why if you go into your doctor for high blood sugar you get a blood test that can determine this but if you go to your psychiatrist for depression you don't get any tests at all. Why is this? And if depression is low serotonin why has no one tested levels?

An old adage in Psychiatry is no psychiatrists ever touch their patient. Many psychiatrists thought this was funny and gave them a certain mystical power because suddenly they could diagnose without ever doing any testing whatsoever on the actual patient.

As a young woman I bought the entire idea that doctors were there to help us. And many Healthcare professionals do go in to the field because they want to help. But medicine Psychiatry and Healthcare tend not to be scientific. That would require real testing of human beings.

Of 47 clinical conditions considered disabling from 20% to 100%, the vast majority are to find as medical not psychiatric. I was never given psychiatric meds for psychiatric problems and I myself sought the help I thought was necessary and right as expressed by the social world.

Many people coming to this world already with congenital defects and other issues. From birth until the age of now nearly 60 I have had massive major medical disease resulting in profound disability not from so-called Mental Illness but medical issues. I still found life and joy.

Psychiatry and psychology, mental health, these Concepts and separatism have given rise to stigma that has harmed more people than possibly hitler, stalin, mal, Pol Pot combined. Not only that it separates our ability to really look at causative factors in all human conditions.

There is a book called Descartes error in which this issue is examined from a philosophical standpoint. The idea of mind is a theory it is not a fact and yet we have an entire industry and concept of the separation of mine from body which gave rise to the concept of Mental Health

In Western Society the mind-body problem emerged as early as the Greeks but was devastatingly and erroneously split by Cartesian duality. When Renee Descartes determined that the Mind had to exist as separate from the physical being he made a devastating and egregious error.

The separation of mind and body is an extreme falsehood that has led to the separation of medicine and psychiatry as a practice in humanity when this is a false separation. Can your so-called mind or brain be cut off from your body and both function no we are whole beings.

It is absolutely about quality of life. I encourage all to focus on that quality over quantity. It adds pressure, when in fact with time, many conditions resolve and/or we become better informed. In 10 years, we may find our struggles now save us as many thousands of others.

Any patients with depression should be very careful when considering this new drug. If you are a provider get with the reality that a new era of understanding is upon us that these medications do great harm. What is the advantage of adding another? Profit. #a11y #prescribedharm
