How do you like the show? It sounded a bit soapy by description, and that doesn't seem your style but some might say that about a 59 year old in short skirts (earwormed myself with a Cake lyric right there, I did. Catch it yet?)

Hi Sara! So multi-language pages specifically with a forced location-based UI? UGH! So, a rtl lang ul use case might have bullets on the left not right sort of issue? Rough stuff in in i18n and CSS-WGs until well into mid 2000s and later, designers often relied on images alone :(

I remember my grandmother, a smart and inquisitive but barely educated, poor polish immigrant loved to read Yiddish (in Hebrew lettering) in the very popular NJ-based newspaper The Forward in the early 1900s. It is multidirectional, still living online: forward.com/yiddish/

I didn't either but I found it interesting, especially the deck model, which is sort of stack-like but not? Hard to see it the way I did then after so much time! :)
And it was indeed "back" in the day :)

Sadly, 99% of readers will not read this. But some will, and thank you for it ;-)

I have been unkind at times and I work hard to be kinder so hard in fact that I saw Mental Health and learned this about Mental Health Care Professionals they are the least kind people I have ever met by and large with very few exceptions.

Strange to see such a question. Life for me is language, computation, development and advocacy. I celebrate 30 years of almost 60 years filled with the world wide web, its ideals and people. I study and write and advocate 9 years after a terminal diagnosis. AM I alive? Maybe? 🤔

Sarah when you say for us to whom are you referring was it your company at the time or group? Or self? Curious as to who and why because development like that may have prevented the iPhone. Which may have saved the world? I think I'm kidding maybe.

Way ahead of their time. We knew there would be many devices to come, we predicted convergence, and we're open to ever growing types of media. What we didn't see coming was the exponential power given selflessly to a species largely driven by self-serving short-term greed.

How do you replicate that kind of getting it? I don't think it's possible. I can understand it I can't for the life of me do it close to well! I'm serious it's why I left design and development for activism, advocacy, education, Fire Starting. Perhaps he's a unicorn after all? 🦄

Absolutely Angie. Such sites do exist. I see Steve cc'd. He remains so far ahead of the game much less capable of advancing what he does with HTML5, style, node.js. last I saw him work f2f? A decade ago. There are tens of millions if not more devs now. A handful or less like him.

Interesting that they had the option was it your group or company that decided to do it and see what would happen or was it contracted just curious as to the opt in opt out option being there at all! Very interesting I wonder if it's still around somewhere?

Just for Laugh how many people here actually ever used WAP/WML for mobile development? #mobile #memories #funny
