They also don't have any idea that ssris have been revealed by Harvard and the Freedom of Information Act as being falsified by FDA paid for studies, and Prozac was the first drug they did direct-to-consumer marketing so many people went to their doctors for happy pills. Disaster

In fact most psychiatrists and most MD's will prescribe ssris and say low serotonin is the cause of depression. Fact is we can't measure serotonin. It is not a brain chemical it has 5% or less in the central nervous system 90% in your gut where it's made. The rest in platelets.

They have tried me on every medication and I have been in therapy for 45 years the reason that little Improvement was occurring has a lot to do with the fact that nobody looked at the physiological reality and just said brain chemistry which actually has no real meaning.

Add to it that most studies are done on males and women can be more emotionally complex as we have to deal with really complex endocrine changes for most of our lives which affect mood and behavior. The mind-body problem is a men's made-up problem. We know very little.

It truly came out of that entire Descartes demon philosophical split of Mind and Body. He was extremely religious a Jesuit Catholic and the body was seen as filth while the spirit had to reside somewhere clean. Hence the idea of mind, mental as being the source of the physical.
I had the opposite experience. Working for Department of energy and other federal agencies long before good practices were being adopted by anybody dot-dot. they were a joy and most of my federal and state agency clients were among my favorites because of that.

Logic. Start there because without it it gets harder to work on presentation and interaction.

I'm old. I like simple text editors. My first HTML editors were hot dog, hot metal, Homesite, bbedit. Such a different world now but if I had to answer for a gooey I would have to say Visual Studio believe it or not.

When teaching language acquisition watching television in that language is recommended. It's helpful with jargon accents all kinds of things. I became fascinated with the variants of Accents in England. I used to be able to identify locations and mixes very well. Losing that too.

The problem with ladino is conversation. the crypto-jews of New Mexico speak it and are culturally replicas of how sephardim were before assimilated or exiled. A fascinating results of Iberian Jews who stayed pretended to assimilate into Catholicism but kept practicing covertly.

You can always practice Yiddish with me but I mostly use it four jokes cursing exclamations blessings and the like not conversation. My grandmother would read the newspapers every day. She only had a sixth-grade education. if you know Spanish ladino will be easy for you.

You do more than try you are a real educator and teach language as well as technique. What factors do you find most harmful or difficult to manage in terms of getting through to people about this issue of language from the bottom up?

I don't know if I could even handle that I have to remove myself from much of a social engagement and this was long before covid even as I can't keep it shut when I hear stupidity. You must be a very patient man or able to hold your tongue better than me for sure LOL

Amazing! Does it come naturally, with ease? Not for me. English and Spanish fluency, Ladino w/o speech as who speaks it? Lots of spoken Yiddish. I can read and write Hebrew with or without vowels. Lost meaning with time. Reading comprehension mostly w germanic/latin rooted langs.

Asked number of languages I speak as a linguist. We are required only one, native. Polyglots are the naturals, and they can be rare and fascinating to watch as I saw with Richard Ishida at W3C amazing, and Charo (who knew?) blew my mind live. Seen any or are you one? Tell, tell!

The opioid epidemic is the worst now in the US than ever. Fentanyl and related versions are cheaper, stronger, extremely dangerous. It should be made a weapon of mass destruction because it is. Everything else? Decriminalize. Social support over criminal has worked before. /rant

Drugs are not driving Arizona's Attorney General Mark Brnovich's Declaration of War on the border. The one drug killing more people is Fentanyl. The largest global supply comes from China. Mexico proxies due to US/China policies. Border sure. Add Planes, boats, ships, drones.

I truly believed as a young girl in the "Age of Aquarius" coming true. Humanity, science, futurism, harmony, peace love and understanding. I still want those things and suffer over the awareness as a grown woman for humanity, that is highly improbable. Let's still aim for better!
