Be proud! ERs are meant for minimal time, maximum outcome. Who asked? They wouldn't if they served in combat. We need combat medics in ERs. Do not poke hyperfocused Papa Bear ready to fight or flee. Protective trenchmates and wounded attack. Same instinct! How are you doing now?
I'd love that! And heck, we once were cooking up an idea ourselves at SXSW 'back in the day' - mine's moving along. I'm not as fast or consistent as I used to be, content feedback has been really good so far, so that's a relief. Old dog, new trick syndrome on my part however. :)

Awww, hugs x infinity, Prisca. Happy New Year!
So awesome Matt! I have seen draft covers of my current book and it's been at least that long for me - tingles! It was great to see your name - and Elie! We met in Limoge after the French edition of Zen of CSS Design came out. Such a delight to see this at my doorstep :)

My actual birthday is Jan. 25th so then. Submit whatever you like to me however you like, I am going to create an exhibit on a site and share as things come in. Low key fun, as more would be a lot of logistics! Send me whatever you like! Yay! :)

Point is, it's a perspective people who have GUIs upon GUIs and APIs upon APIs to run their workaday world appear, at least in my experience, are far more vulnerable due in part to obfuscation of core content and functions. I think! :)
Yes, an iffy article but a real concern revealed. I appreciate the insight, especially from your perspective of someone working a command line every day - something I rarely do anymore! :)

Indeed! The Internet is ideally a *multi* stakeholder envirnment, and the WWW as a vision and ideal is positioned to actually *transcend* singular platform, OS, browser, etc. etc. Monocultures are dangerous anywhere, to my way of thinking :)
Opera is chromium core FYI. Firefox is of course the core of Tor, so attention to security is intact. No sofware is perfect, though. Safari is gaining more interest lately and it seems to me security is a necessary commitment for browsers moving forward.

For your browser edification. Do other folks feel as i do an impending doom over the monochromatic (if you'll pardon the pun 😉) landscape of browser engines? Dun dun dun! #browsers #webdev #ui #ux #a11y #webdesign techradar.com/news/the-succe…

Awesome! I'm thinking some creative online party highlights. Maybe some local musician friends, geek chats, general interest fun but virtual. Everybody will be required to happy dance, however ;-)
It's doable according to people weighing in but it's not accurately described in the article. What's more, the issue appears complicated by how the clipboard API can be tricky for some (like me) sho work adjacent to but not directly with JavaScript and a decrease w terminal use.

Cool! What goes around as they say ;-) - I've revamped my book and have the "go forth" okay so have been in a writing groove agani. Yay! Glad to hear you're back to teaching - F2F or are you Covid-distanced?

Thanks Tina. The way the article read struck me as being illogical. It appears from you and others there's more than a few inaccuracies in the description of how an exploit can be passed via the clipboard API.
