He does have his way with words :) But then again, you all do. It surely is interesting - and of course I look at the "how do we explain/teach/make easy to use and understand" far more than code these years.

That's interesting and clarifies that my comment is not so much meant as a negation but a query of general practices as we move away from earlier ideas. That there's precendence in xforms is good. I am not naysaying rather wondering how we encourage which approach for which need.

HCI and UX as well as social and behavioral studies all show a pattern that when faced with too many options, people freeze and/or choose the option they know or are drawn to, within ~ 9 seconds. Which option is fastest? Most accessible? Most useful? How does a user find out?
OK hold up while I stop giggling at Daniel's tweet. I am really worry about @stevenpemberton'd "Monolithic Lump" - we began with distributed, declarative language for ease of use, interop, compat, universal, agnostic. It feels we make software not web sites now. What do we want?

I want to be horrified. I want to believe humanity isn't brutal or cruel, that all lives matter, that love prevails, that trauma goes away. I want to believe love conquers all, people are good, and peace is upon us. I can't. I can hold hope. I am crying with you, for you, for us.

We don't remember the past. We don't learn history as fact. So of course we repeat our mistakes and reinvent wheels. Humanity is stuck in a perpetual game of "telephone" :)

Let's do the math. 7.9 BILLION people roam the earth. There are 14 million total Jews unless you're Orthodox (who do not count other Judaic groups) or a Persian Jew, like myself, of which there are less than 300,000 worldwide. Yet you'd think we owned the place. Oh wait, some do!
4 years ago, a white supremacist mob assaults Charlottesville chanting, "Jews will not replace us, Blood & Soil”…culminating in Heather Heyer’s murder —> A straight line to #January6thInsurrection. It is crucial that America reckons with its racism, Xenophobia, & Trumpism.

As is the "digital divide' - I believe Accessibility is the entry point for most things, Web specifically, not the end or tack it on or blind folks don't buy cars, or remediation. Infrastructure, language, literacy, culture all are issues of access. As is clean code and design :)

Another - light bright! Imagine, we could use a modern one to demonstrate RGB color ;-)

I wish you good luck! My husband was a Navy Corpsman, Vietnam. I live on very little myself. If you have not got any support through the VA don't give up. Push them, it's their duty now. You've done yours. Stay safe, all good thoughts and hopes / m

As you say, Mike, in theory. Think about what we've moved away from client-server relationships (mostly since restful tech I think) to browser as far more than interpreter, but actual runtime ops - hence Web app/site issues concerning me ;)
Was without connectivity for nearly 24 hours due to a massive storm system here and no hotspot. I include outages as first-order Accessibility. I struggled to do anything work related with no literal access! Internet and Web are truly assistive technologies themselves! #a11y #WWW

This is referred to as the "stupid motorist law" If you see moving water in Arizona anywhere water usually isn't like: Roads, rivers, streams and mountain areas, leave. It's not a joke. tucson.com/news/local/photos…

FutureSplash (SmartSketch) who made Flash did so in January, 1993 for pen input devices. First proposals of HTML were 1993 and HTML2 was published in 1996. One of these things - not like the other :)
I dislike that Pandora killed their desktop app (because it was written in a Flash substrate). I want to have a separate window for Pandora, so I can manipulate it like a desktop app, instead of trying to find which of my many tabs it’s currently living in.

It's really poor engineering all around, sadly, with few exceptions. :(
