I avoid more than less exposure to THOSE people /snark snark - Quality of life is a passing expression for me. Gah!

Diaspora as a brand name for a social but detached network? Never. My cultural heritage is all about forced detachments, global scattering. Camps, Walls, Military States, Stateless Nations, Genocide, Zealots, Despots, Terrorists. I'd say try Holocaust brand but it'll be denied.

I do believe, that decentralisation is the key to success. P2P and interlinked clusters, that aggregate to „Plattforms“. Unfortunately initiatives like diaspora didn‘t gain enaugh momentum to become a fb alternative. I like @pfrazee‘s work, but still too tech for common use?!

Many ideas emerge from military full stop! :) Like radio. Or that big highway thing people talk about....um, called, called... inter...inter...INTERNET. That thing.

Money for a staff perhaps? Smm companies and independents all would benefit by balancing tasks, monitoring process and providing real engagement, not just 'meetings' or scrum style stuff which can be helpful if the comprehensive discussions/work is addressed alongside :)

I'm not there yet. My spoon count shifts radically by the hour nowadays...

And you've got a big family - I cannot imagine what this past year especially has been like for you all! Just relieved to see people forging ahead despite ongoing hardships around the world. Good thoughts to you and yours, always.

It's kinda really exhausting and I miss the capacity I once had. I love writing and research and have always landed back in it when I'm healing. It provides me a sense of purpose. This is the conflict. How do we get it all done and stay close?

Haha, Right? I personally do feel compelled to - I'm kinda woven into this Web no matter what I do. I wonder - am I the spider or the fly? Ha!

Thanks, no worries. How's the new job? I just posted I'm afk due to a new/old job too! I don't know how I did it a decade plus ago. I'd love to have a chat with you regarding book - and life - if you're up for it and have a window of time. LMK where's best to follow up on this!

HOW on earth do y'all do it? Keep up with work, study, family, life logistics n' stuff AND social relationships online? It was easier once 😉 Work and life are taking precedence right now due to energy. It keeps me socially afk. Tips for 'spoon' management welcome! Onward xo/m 💙

We reinvent the Web constantly IMNSHO! Serious about that. I'm still cold about cloud computing. I do use it, I'm not pleased with many technical problems it poses. Especially when companies drop service integratioon, as Google just did with Drive and Photos. Thx for the article!

Wow, that's a great model, F2F social distancing integrated with online. And wine, of course, for the Toastmasters! There's going to be increasing demand for speakers/teachers etc. to get lots better at delivering content of any kind via many modalities. It's an inclusive model.

I'm glad. I am language-obsessed. Words tumble out of my mouth with little filter. I know when I bite it's off-putting. We are what we are 😉 Sorry I couldn't help! Small co's often limit sponsorships to big conf's/events. It's good to laugh with good friends about our silliness!
Re voice input . . . I am not happy with the state off voice i/o technology for the kinds of needs working on a book using very complex XML ontologies for templating purposes. I can and do go on ;-) PS please DM me your best email when ya have a chance in re editing, thxya xo/m

Wonderful! Public speaking is...public :) Zoom speaking is public-adjacent. There can be a public audience, and a public speaker, but no one is actually IN public. It requires a range of conventional and emerging techniques. Is online speaking being discussed much in your group?

HA! What a memory you have Denis. My turn! I DEMAND you stop being embarrased after 10 years already, my dear. :) The real questions are: Was I mean? And, did I manage to get you the money for the sponsorship? If I was mean and/or failed you? It is I who should be embarassed!
