Thanks Gareth! Means so much to have your support. I dug into your Little Book and it is powerful good! So well done, not that I'm surprised...you are aces!
I'm writing it now, for Wiley. Mass market book, so it will be all the expected large vendors and many indies - once it hits the buyers we'll start seeing it listed on amazon, etc. I'll let folks know as we go.... :)
This made me LOL! Hope you're doing good. I often remember our fun dinner in Atlanta - I know I - and so many folks worldwide miss the days of our community events and social outings. Here's to better days for all xo/m
Web accessibility is of course not just about blind people, but we forget it's about even more than assistive technology or the practices in #a11y - it's human i/o (touch screens, voice i/o, home devices etc) and extends beyond us in #AI#MachineLearning#VR and so much more.
Just fully realized the accuracy of the term "Web Standards Evangelist" when my dear, devilish Web pal poked me: "Say I develop for a product, motorcycles. I sure ain't paying more to add #a11y as no blind person buys..." Hellfire! Brimstone! A litany of passionate fire and word!
I am forever grateful to you, Nick, for always sending out reminders of how we influence each other and continue to inspire, contribute and recognize the wonderful people who shape our lives. Thanks for always honoring your influences, it reminds me how much gratitude I have too!
Fully agree with data portability, which comes as a best-use result in Web with minimal need for APIs beyond the UA. Data porability is baked into the foundational Web design principles of interoperability and accessibility for our WWW since its invention!
Provocative :) Automation is challenging as a given process is usually created by one or a few. Disruptive technology intentions can quickly veer off track - we really have no standard measure of what disruptive success actually looks like. Your focus could provide some guidance!
