That the Web is a social as well as technical construct with specific principles has been sidestepped in favor of technique-centric, product-driven, increasingly closed and exlusionary development suggests a revisit to those principles - a first visit for many - is long overdue.

Technology - all #STEM subjects - are historically exclusive, limiting the richness many perspectives that are the quantifiable truth of the World. Nowhere in tech does it seem more necessary and ideologically baked in than with the socio-technical vision of the World Wide Web.

Many of the socially diverse opportunities are responses to separatism related to great discord across the world, on and in part due to social media. A chorus of socially diverse voices are responding via movements, awareness and consciousness-raising (so 70s of me) is respnding.

Been working on the TOC for my book which would have been a Ph.D. disseration but for an unexpected, delightful reconnection with some long-time publishing friends and colleagues. The emerging call for socially progressive tech titles by diverse voices is uplifting and wonderful!
