Why is it grandma? It's ageist, sexist, narrow thinking. Who the heck do we think was part of the emergence of Open Source in the first place? Not youth not anymore. We need to think how it is disrespectful and antithetical to all open, universal and inclusive design principles.
With my tongue in my cheek I'd like us to remember Open Source was born of folks of a certain age who ARE computer scientists! That aside, I'd start with the social benefits as well as the participant and collaborative efforts which in turn create innovation. HTH! Godmama Mols

Well think about how blindness occurs. Some people have vision for decades before conditions cause partial or full blindness, some are born with vision issues or blindness, other factors. Short answer, yes 😊
