While the 'second opinion' advice would normally make sense, it's driving me insanely nuts. For folks who didn't know me until recently, I understand. But for folks who know at least some of the medical history, that's noe even remotely a reasonable piece of advice.

Like you said it's not just for the memory of Kevin that you do it it's for everyone and when you give that you give that to more than just one person you help many people and that truly matters. I can say that with absolute confidence considering the need I've had for them.

For all the reasons you do it that you do it at all is in fact a gift of life. Platelets especially are difficult because a transfusion only lasts tops three days or so in a recipient and you can't have too many of them they really do not like transfusing people very much anymore

Also white cell transfusions are very rarely used anymore they are mostly used to create other types of blood products. There is very little they can do now for my white cells because I can't take neupogen anymore the FDA put a stop on it was on it longer than maybe anyone.

That's interesting I've heard a lot of people have at least one day of extreme fatigue depression and nausea symptoms after platelets along with muscle aches a flu like reaction which makes sense. Some people are pre-treated with Benadryl to avoid this. Thank you so much again!

It's sad that something so brutal an experience in your family brought you to that choice. Did you find it harder or more uncomfortable in any way when you started donating platelets as compared to whole blood?

On behalf of all the people who have need of them I say thank you. I may even have some of your platelets in me LOL. Many donors say it's rough on them. Would you be able to explain that better if you know. What inspired you to choose platelet donations over whole blood or plasma

If you can donate Where You Are what happens is donated blood is pooled together. Those products go to transfusion as well as other blood products like stem cell treatments that I've been through. Instead of going to just one person it help so many in great need. I'm so grateful.

You are such a kind and loving friend. I'd forgotten in the disenfranchisement of the darkest days in not just my life and losses of help work house husband mother and Friends but political upheaval and the devastation of covid. But I see love here and it inspires me thank you

So much of my fatigue and disenfranchisement has come from so much upheaval in the world and great personal loss husband and mother and friends who have passed. It's very high risk. But with this love and kindness I want to stay with you all but as long as I possibly can.

Your kindness is filling my heart with courage and a desire to have hope and live. I forgot about that I had become very disenfranchised with Humanity in these years of such cruelty and political strife much less so much personal loss of mother and husband in Friends. Thank you

Having so few beds available and covid make anyone with severe illness and low immunity much higher. It will have to be done very carefully. Infection and bleeds are my worst enemies medically and I'm sick of hospitals for me my husband my mother my grandmother and many friends.

I know and it's especially scary having to do medical procedures and being hospitals during this time especially with my immune system but I am vaccinated and I follow the best practices recommended and we'll see. I will likely be in isolation in the hospital there are few beds.

Me too. It's become so unkind that I forgot until today love still prevails in this world and people still care I was giving up hope. My family here online and by extension those I've met and interacted with have been my salvation.

I love him too. there's a great story because his father and my mother were also cousins of course and they were very very close so it's a special relationship in that regard it honors them both. Thank you Jen I empathize with you for so many things as well you know. I love you.

Jen - Judd is my best family advocate and he and his Mom have truly been there for me including visiting. I need someone here in Tucson more than visits from fam and friends afar. Virtual love is love too.
