Games and actual *design* control were Flash's most noble gifts IMO.

Crimes against Web Standards confessional is open, and I go first! I wrote two books on Adobe Livemotion. I am ambivalent about Flash tech personally, glad for those it gave joy, angry at all plug-ins, sad that #a11y and security are so compromised on the Web.

We all know the reasons Flash had to go, but I’m not up for all the dancing on its grave people do. The web felt a lot more creative back then.

Adobe Flash is officially dead as of today. A li'l software company called FutureWave made a vector based animation program called FutureSplash in 1996. I remember the launch, sale sale, Adobe's failed LiveMotion (aka DeadMotion) and Adobe's move to "Win the Web" I'm tired.

HA! That is a hella 'sassy' thought. Scary, too.
Wanna put that to the test? (I had to tweet it. Pun prison, no pardons for me!)

Doctors are all on vacation this week - poor leadership and no sense of how to manage public health (crisis or not, alas). *sigh*

Way to make me spit out my water. You almost caused it to go through my nose that usually wins a gold star! ;-) I think I'll give you one anyway just cuz I'm feeling generous since I doubled my Bitcoin.

Dear your diary, Me and JavaScript have been fighting since we met oh so many years ago. Netscape and IE DOM issues much? FYI for those who don't know the web standards project was actually born of that issue.

That's a little bit of Brilliance there! Of course I'm regretting not having invested more Bitcoin because I just looked and my $10 is now 20 LOL. Very witty piece of work my dear.

Box model hack ack ack ack. Doctype switching. Those were the days but I tell you I preferred that as hard as it was then the near browser monoculture we have today because you would think that with chromium core being the dominant rendering engine we'd have better interop. Nope!

Despite being one of the most simplistic parasites made of a piece of genetic code in a protein sheath viruses throughout history have been long-lived and very deadly. I never imagined it would take less than a year. Vaccines will help eventually. But eventually could be years.

Oh you are right but I have to snort back it's in my contract as the webs fairy godmother. If you were writing your declarative code well debugging was not the primary problem it was the browser hacks and workarounds during the I6 issues and Dom incompatibilities.

No need to vote him out he's done. No one is going to ask for a third term. 2022 baby come on!

This is me mumbling terrible things about today's devtools Tools in general. For the good old days when they were simple. In many ways I think they have contributed to the devolution of open web.

As for me I keep my head as low as possible. Yuma is also awful for the same issues with covid-19 as well as the horrors of what has been going on with the seemingly unfathomable immigration issues that separate children from parents and put them in internment camps.

If you mean Governor 'no mask' Ducey he is becoming more and more hated. We did turn Arizona blue this year which was very unexpected. Still we have our fair share of highly uncivil Libertarians. Being 48th in the nation in education might have a little something to do with that.

I have to add that most healthcare workers in the United States including doctors are not trained in medical science. They are trained in clipboards, checklists, charts and morality judgements. Example? What's your pain level today... 1 through 10? I always snark "it goes to 11"

Yes yes yes Etc except I don't think those words are Brewing I think they have been happening all along. If you want evidence of Civil War come to Arizona Borderlands. And evidence of global Warfare became very real for me when Buddhists began killing Muslims in Myanmar.
We're living through: 1) Worst pandemic in modern history 2) Worst economy since Great Depression (maybe worse) 3) Worst hack of US govt ever 4) An attempted coup 5) A brewing civil war 6) A brewing foreign war 7) An admin serving organized crime 8) Led by a nuke-loving sociopath

Yeah and the old school greybeard says CSS is supposed to be declarative or was. That's not declarative. Nor is it semantics. Oh well Time Marches On
