Ian OMG! House belongs in Las Vegas. At least it would fit in there, both its ugly hugeness and price. Also, big houses with big rooms and over 4,000 square feet for one family is so USA. And those are often SECOND homes for winter use. So they sit empty. Horrific is a good word.

It scrolled off screen.
Of course, I've always leaned content and multiple formats as a creative. To make it work technically? RGB to CMYK? Page layouts with actual folds (there is NO fold on a screen, full stop!), and potential for real semantics.

Ah! That was awesome. I started losing interest and passion for #CSS as it is abused terribly due to piss poor education regarding the W3C spec and all the stuff folks did. Oh that var, that var! One project of interest to me, now gone was @wiumlie's CSS print beyond paged media.

From me? Maybe a conversation but databases are not a strong area for me. At all.

Ha! Early crime table hack: <table> <tr> <td> <p> <br> <br> <img src="homepageImage.gif" alt="company name"> <td> <tr> <table> Wow, that was a trip. Haven't done that in decades! Fun!

I love it! Tim inspired much of my philosophical Web ideals. RESTful works and #a11y is to me a part of user experience and quality development. Not an add-on. Core tech. JS Lib/Frameworks are only impressive in Javascripter hands that can shape them to deliver an open stack.
Astrophysics eh? Physics and The Web are inseparable.

Ah, UK. You had big virus news too! But here, everything buys advertising. You've got the NIH. We have #BigPharma telling us all the new drugs to go bug our doctors for, for big money even if insured. Ah, predatory capitalism. So not attractive 🤮

Are you in the US? It's both endearing and horrifying. Especially high-ticket commodities like automakers offering attractive deals right now. Lots of thank you's, lots of positive "we are in this together" constantly in all mass media, Web sites and apps, buildings, billboards!

I know folks get stir crazy. Even enraged. After less than two months. Try intermittent total of 2/3 of your life. Find stuff at home you love. Laugh at yourself a lot. Ask: Food? Water? Shelter? Not literally locked down/up? If yes, you're better off than many. Count blessings🤟

There's a "distanced but together" commercial for Covid showing online "firsts" - none of them apply to most greybeards. Even my M.A. at The New School for Social Research. Modem. BBS. 1993. The Web. My thesis "A Brave New World Wide Web" became book #1 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Connec…

Unless markup is served as XML - then case matters, as we learned via XHTML. HTML51 2nd Edition describes this as XHTML 5.1: This spec defines the latest version of the XHTML syntax, known as "XHTML 5.1" w3.org/TR/html51/introductio… Eric: I only used media="projecton" around you :D

LOL! Grumpy is not age-dependent ;-)
Historically other declarative languages (XML, SVG, SMIL, XHTML) were meant for some of those activities but were not implemented. Not to mention that many pro's can't articulate CSS terms and syntax, sort order, weight, inheritance, cascade, specificity, what media queries are.

Really? #CSS does all that all by itself? No reliance on any other language or software or technology at all? Standalone sites and apps all from "pure" CSS? Stas! I see the humor in your point but c'mon! /me holds up sign saying just because we can...
Okay. We can style with CSS. We can draw with CSS. We can animate with CSS. We can create modals with CSS. What's next? CSS for backend? CSS for AI? CSS for rocket software?

My brother Morris Kafka reminded me of this blog post from 2015. Family history of smart, socially angst-ridden satire! And so funny! Super for #UX #UI #A11Y #Architecture #Design or if you have any feelings about @IKEAUSA "A Kafkaesque Evening at Ikea" oldhouseresource.wordpress.c…

I couldn't agree more. Love transcends the physical as we define it. I look to stars, long gone still shining. Times of crisis and loss are often the best opportunities for major change. Pendulums swing after all. I love you Anitra. Always xo/m
