You'll be just as flummoxed, if not more, and the math is weird and there is a total separation between ideals and practice. Bottom line? We all end up paying.

Maybe he should stop by the jail and go meet the Sherrif's staff here in Pima County while he's here. #JustThinking
Here's a whole different #CSS and it speaks my language (as it were). Right here at the UofA! It's a special cert for Ph.D. students. "Computational Social Sciences" (CSS!) css.arizona.edu/ Ph.D. would be Computational Linguistics or Cognitive Science. Anyone familar? LMK!

Upper, lower, and mixed too! Everyone had their own way and it was awfully difficult in the earlier days to deal with the case, spacing and other issues. I stopped looking at source in 2017 as it's worse now. Still no standards! Lots to laugh about though ;-)

And by extension and year, so does: <div align="center"> . . . </div>

See? Naughty. Of course this is partly learning. And how we figure out how "gee, that blink and scroll is making me feel a little nauseated..." and next we have seizures, migraines, nausea, motion sickness and confusion of where the heck those relying on vision put their eyes!
HA! You just made me flashback to a talk by Cam Adams. He built a JavaScript Mac OS semi functional prototype pre HTML5 (2005)? Sydney, Australia (You were there, not sure if at talk). Andrew K did just this and flashed me and the room his silliness. Oh, naughty fun with #HTML :D

<body> <blink> <marquee> <h1> Hello world! </h1> <p> Does this page grab your attention? I bet it does! It’s just amazing how much you can do to really capture those 1995 eyeballs! </p> </marquee> </blink> </body>

Once upon the dawn of Web me and a friend Matt built a series of GIFs and a simple 'nix or BSD (?) server side trick using a plain ASCII file and around 10 GIFs (no animated GIF at this point, but inline GIF support) with an .htmlx extension @facej @joelsnyder how did we do this?

What a wonderful list of so so so so so many of our little posse back in the day. And 2005 was definitely a demarcation. Rise of Web apps in browsers. No iPhone yet though! HA! You have and always will be a true hero and friend. Thank you for teaching me, and all the laughs too!

Time for another installation of "Crimes Against Web Standards" I think. Were we annoying much? Clever, but so annoying. Not to mention this is such an insult to #A11Y and the holy grail that has become the title element. But it's funny. And I'm laughing. #HTML
I raise you both animating title bars in Netscape Navigator 1.x like so: <title>W</title> <title>We</title> <title>Wel</title> <title>Welc</title> <title>Welco</title> <title>Welcom</title> <title>Welcome</title> <title>Welcome </title> <title>Welcome t</title> …et cetera

Sad. That was not just a lovely restaurant with lots of happy memories for many, but a very cool building. Thanks Anitra!

I'm so sorry. Sadly, I have been all too close to such horrors here in the U.S. I hope you are all finding comfort. Humanity needs to learn how to deal with rage, anger, trauma pre-emptively instead of after-the-fact of the unspeakable capacity for violence of broken humans. ☮️

LOL! You could so end up like me - no hair at all! Ah, for the love of the white cell stimulant Filgastrim and it's side effects. At least I have stunning cheekbones. Also, I used to be one hairy girl all over. Now it's just grey long hairs appearing on my chin and upper lip! HA!

I am so glad you and your family are okay particularly being in an epicenter. Fortunately, I'm used to a level of social distancing due to existing health. I'm so glad it's getting better. We're seeing mixed here, the US is large and often, well, very broken. Continued health xo!
And wow, did you ever fly, @denisejacobs but you were ready then. Role models do matter, and without them we can lose our way. This post highlights the unexpected, wonderful experience of somehow inspiring #webdev and #webdesign folk. I learn. I am uplifted because YOU! #Grateful
At our last #CouchConvo, @denisejacobs shared she was inspired to start speaking when she saw @mholzschlag speak at WebVisions in Portland in 2005. She talked about the importance of representation on stage & said, "When I saw Molly do that, I thought, 'This is possible for me.'"
