Ah, for the good old days? Or what could have been if we hadn't decided a web site must also be an app. We broke our own tools in a rush for...I still don't know because the mess you're facing is in part to my thinking the obfuscation of something meant to be palpable.

Makes sense. But impressive projects clearly are a strength for you. BBC for sure has had to manage massive amounts of data, large internationalization with accessibility and dates and numbers. I wonder if there's a resource there? Working with clashes in the tech itself? Yikes!

So an issue of scale? Sounds also as you are limiited by other software, OS or even hardware issues? Local storage, perhaps?

To watch millions of people express extremes of emotion from fear of what deadly illness might do, yet fail to understand extremes of emotion from those who have as well as cared for terrminal beloveds for decades? Is it acceptable as it's many not just a few? What do you think?

I walked away. I still hurt and wanted justice but knew that staying in it for the year or more it would have taken would have hurt me more. But I am an incessant ruminator. Some people can compartmentalize and relax with far more skill than I ever could. What would do?

For me, it's because it's something I can control, configure and command my own way instead of someone else's idea of how my editor should work.

Oh, as in "Hey, look, I can get to this content." How did something so simple get so completely overcomplicated and turn into fight clubs or sites that look exactly the same and have checkboxes that force refreshes and are unusable for significant numbers of humans? SMH
I am seeing it now! Thanks Daniel. :D
I was going to make a post earlier and got into the #CSS walk down memory lane. Great people, great work. And LINUX too? I think we closed what we wanted open and opened things we didn't ever imagine could happen. Ah, life ;-)
BTW, while I'm deeply sad at Mozilla's decline, and hate monocultural browsers (which should be interoperable but somehow are not lol) I am very very proud and personally comforted due to WaSP days to see the advances being made with Edge. Congrats to all!
It looks lovely and clean and readable and useful. CONTENT, baby! Woohoo. I just read there's a list on the CSS Naked Day Site for this year but trouble adding to it? I gotta go take a look. I am not surprised but ever delighted to see some of us still living the dream ;-)
Hmmm, I'll take a look. Thank you for the list, and for participating!

Is anyone tracking who has gone #CSS naked for April 9th? I do see more than a few posts regarding dark mode interference. I also cannot imagine any Framework with inline CSS and 50,000 !important declarations succeeding at this at all. If you have an example, please share it!

My blue beanie cap off to Eric for making meyerweb #CSS naked. But what really blew my mind was his post on why statiic sites remain important. As in, there was readable, informative, helpful, intriguing, accessible CONTENT. That's the freshest Web experience I've had since 2006.

Do you specifically mean table-based layout? Or simply well-structured HTML? Before progressive design with CSS, transiitional design was a reasonable approach: Minimal table for layout, CSS for design for browsers with implementation. Overcomplication is not a Web user's friend.

Absolutely! One could argue Adam's modesty leaf was a style sheet (did I just type that?) :D

XForms remain relevant! WML on the other hand...glad I didn't write about that ;-)
