While I am the complete opposite of wealthy part of the reason for that is because I did walk away every single time I felt a job was sucking my soul. To my way of thinking it is much better to have a quality of life and less money than more money and no quality of life. 💕

And ignorance. More, I'm sure.

Ignorance must be so rewarding and blissful. No one here gets out alive.

I call this "Arcs of Trauma" and yes, reframing our thinking is part of progressive trauma treatment and for me, hugely restorative. xo

Pre Web combinations of hardware, software and adaptive tools made Internet protocols and ASCII content accessible to more than less. The Web ramped up so fast, #a11y in practice got quite complex yet so many issues are not complex (Forms etc). Lack of #dev edu? Bad #tools? Yes?

California Web Accessibilty Conference keynote-as-spoken-word riff. 2006, April, San Francisco's Palace Hotel. #webdev and #webdesign and the immortal John Slatin front and center. Here's my spoken word riff on #a11y (pre-hashtag too!) for your #tuesday dropbox.com/sh/q5oarev486mbg…

It's time to stop talking about #a11y as an add-on. It is baked in to #Webdev and treated as afterthought in 2020? Arguably no inclusion of #a11y could very well imply "not Web." 30+ years of advocacy, law, education and the same damn issue persists? Time to flip the script!

Acceessibility is "the quality of being able to be reached" as in "access to all who wish to access the Web no matter condition, tools, location, language, economic ability." #a11y is inherent to design principles, standards, system design but quality eludes us for many reasons.

This happened to me too. And I had great boobs for the historical record 😧. Are you losing weight intentionally (I hope)?

Honey met our new kitty neighbor Shaman in a most delightful way and have me chuckling at Mirror Kitty silliness. I'm not sure they've figured out just what they are looking at yet. Adorableness for #Caturday! #Cats #CatsOfTwitter #CatsOfFacebook #CatsOfInstagram #SaturdayMorning

More than a shame. It's not like we've not as an industry done decades of work and outreach. That's why I think "payback" is overdue. And while I prefer agreements that educate and require oversight, sometimes companies only pay attention when they lose real money. *sigh*

I came back in part for her. M.D. and Ph.D. Knows what no one did. Wish I'd found her decades sooner. This shit sucks more than illness for me. SO degrading and cruel.
Someone asked what illness I have. Bone Marrow Aplasia. Subclinical 1967-2013. I bled from nose, gums, then heavy menses. Tested w/ issues to 'watch'. 2013 I fell at LAX. Woke in hospital, dear Joe O'Connor there! Deadly but I was "Malingering. No work ethic." #HealthCare #where?
