I saw this and did not realize it was me for a day or so. Sydney, Australia. That's the classic "I put it in my safe place, where the f is my safe place" Mols moments.
This is me, right? I'm a stranger to my yesterdays.
My backstory has a lot more to it that I have and maybe will never write. I will say the extremes of hardship and freakin' awesome in one short life definitely has me in a very different viewport than many humans. I like your optimistic way of expressing yourself. Refreshing!
Maybe it's just energy drinks. It was more than a decade ago. Me looking for whatever I put in that "safe place" I never find again at WebEssentials Sydney!
You don't have immigration issues with Mexico - ask them for supply! They also make Fanta with real sugar too. It isn't sweet to my taste whereas Coca Cola with the HFCS is sickly sweet.
That poem scared me when the New Testament, which I have read and research over the years but am not Christian myself, the red, yellow, blue is right out of Revelations - I just wrote it then read it and thought "geez" which is often the case with songs or poetry that show up :)
If I don't credit or quote it's mine. :D and free to share or build on. I'm still a Lawrence Lessig Creative Commons kid (I introduced him to Web99 in SFO. He was a really great speaker and inspiration for information ownership - you get to decide. I like a nod, but not required.
I learned the most being in hell. My successes are irrelevant, the suffering is in part mine, I own that now. I have almost no ability to compartmentalize, I now put all life toxicity into toxic waste cans and imagine them blowing up. It helps a lot! :)
thanks! There's a pun there. Depends what CapitOl you subscribe to. ha. Brooklyn? I was born at Brookdale Hospital (then known as Beth Israel) in Jan 1963.
Depends what capital you do or do not subscribe to. Money is such a lie and the most divisive idea humanity created, worse even than extremist religious violent sorts.
I went to pour myself a Mexican Coke and the news was on. I heard this from the kitchen: Iran, Cocaine seizure one billion (what do you tell the boss on that, ha) and Central America.
Iran, Cocaine, Central America. Familiar to anyone?
We came from the sea
It will take us back,
as fascists let fires burn,
the earth broke under the weight of humanity
Red, yellow, blue
and then there will be the nothing no white, no black
just an empty wild wind.
Listen to the language. Watch the cop pick up and twist a 4 year old girl by the arm and threaten to kill her pregnant mother. It's just a life, a child, a human animal and also black. Lucky no one was killed. SHAME! abcnews.go.com/WNT/video/off… I've known heroes and this is not that.
Did folks see the footage of the Phoenix officers on the Dollar Store shoplifting by a 4 year old? If you thought I was ever joking about the Arpaio legacy, harm done by EMTs to sick people. I got punched in the head last year in the hospital where sick people go to get well?
I agree, but that takes time and self-realization. My favorite quote that captures this comes from Søren Kierkegaard. "Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards." We have to do the work if we want to understand our lives to some degree.
