I logged into Flickr yesterday and it had been 16 YEARS since my last log in. I remember it's wonder as social network for visual communicators. Now Scumbags run what would have been nextgen BBSs but for the sell-out factor. I'm isolated due #a11y and the 300 baud modem saved me!
Gentle reminder that for many disabled and chronically ill people, our communities only exist accessibly on social media.
Deleting FB, IG, and more isn't a solution. It just leaves more disadvantaged people at risk.
Demanding accountability is the inclusive way forward.

I wonder what happened and how we could have evolved Web Applications and declarative, accessible and open stacks alongside the big X. Why did one have to win? We live in an age of #javascript which ain't ALL bad, but abstraction of the declarative has severely damaged #open Web!
I am often mystified by why some are so critical of CSS, especially its cascading nature. The fact that most of those critics were male had escaped me, but this strikes me as a key insight.

These are logical and reasonable choices IMO at this point in our industry history. Only predators want predatory behavior, most of us came to the Web as an equalizing force. Social Networks sold us out big-time. My main reason for not doing same is the mass of friends here/FB.🙌

As I've said before, I would just love to sit at the foot of the master (you) and learn ALL THE COLOR TECH you can download to my brain. I have so little understanding of the applied science of color despite having the sociocultural and symbolic side and design color theory :D

Building on that I learned my skills by making them up until I somehow ended up at the w3c where I realized there was an entire group making it up! What a fascinating life it is indeed!
