To the point of my career: This is why I see failure where others might see a certain success despite my ridiculous personal traumas. WE DID NOT WIN. THERE ARE NO WEB STANDARDS. THERE NEVER WERE. THEY LIED. Okay, I get emotional. :) How Robert stays in the fight? I'm in awe, tbh.
@mholzschlag I can’t believe that we are even having this discussion after the fight was won so many years ago. I thought that this was a dead issue. You write for the web, you write for multiple browsers.
Hi Mike. I was gifted a pro account in 2005 by a tech mgr @Flickr. I uploaded tons of photos to my pro account. Person at Flickr moved on to other jobs as we do in this industry, and I was left having to pay for Pro. I stopped paying. I want to catalog pics, to do so I paid. HTH!
That's the prob - they're public but only in one size. I reupped for 6 dollars which is enough time to get all the data back at least and leave the rest to the ghost town web site it's become.
Yeah but Technology Lead Jane General gave it as a gift for visiting, said it was forever, and left the company. Tech Lead Jane is not equal to Yahoo. Therefore, it's not the same. This isn't evil. Verizon, on the other hand...yeah. Evil.
I know! It is maddening and frustrating. Hence my sadness Rosemary. Remember how simple it was in 2005. Same for Twitter. They were better when simple and/or I'm old ;-)
My intent isn't a staging server for Wikipedia! 😜 It's to create a source wiki where we showcase #LadyOgs under a more focused, iterative model. Ongoing updates within our community provide recognition, historical documentation and search result diversity for extended purposes.
Elisa - I know. I want to do this ethically as well. With those resources from BlogHer, and this list, we could team up resources if you like! I think a workplace for us would be a good idea. @Blogdiva Liza - set up a wiki as well at whichever URI we'll be using? I can do it too.

1 year ago. Kitchen karaoke in the kitchen I laid marble tiles down in in the kitchen where my husband made me coffee in the kitchen where I sang this to be strong for them. I lost them all in 2017. I'm not a rock. I am not an island. But I do still sing.
I'd like to work on bios. Do y'all think we work on bios on a wiki we host/use as a feeder for explicit Wikipedia entries? This makes us a primary source (I think) as well as drives search to yield more equitable results. Or do y'all think it's better to go directly to Wikipedia?
Notice the language (Hi Jozjozjoz!) "quietly keeping the lights on" - when it comes to many people, especially of our gender and with added cultural variants in a world wide context - don't want to be on the stage. Keeping the lights on and energy going is the hardest job of all!
I think Open Atrium is a great option as both a short + long term solution @blogdiva -- and to correct myself @500womensci calls their local groups "pods" -- "nodes" are definitely a nod to Drupal. As an online::IRL organizing case study, women scientists are leading the way :)
