For me, all militarized nations including the USA are an abomination against all of the brother and sisterhood of humanity and the entire cosmos. #israel #usa #peace #resist #trump #netenyahu #Syria #Iran #Iraq.

The problem is the group on the left. A Shiite Muslim coworker told me that Jews were pigs & monkeys & drink the blood of Muslim children & deserve to die. He had a masters degree, was mostly raised in England, & his parents were doctors. What are you supposed to do with that?

This is true and that's why I'm so happy your optimism is still intact to help me rebuild up mine! Thank you my friend! :-)

I'm not sure what good it is bringing its just recreating television in a different protocol.

That's a really good idea however I don't feel confident enough yet. I'm just starting out! Not much of a portfolio right now but who knows in time it's an option. So nice to know we have them now and again. Although now I'm all into glass so we'll have to go to the Neon Museum!

Oh I don't think the problem is so false have you seen the rants from Netflix and other media companies that are web-based. Doom and Gloom if net neutrality is rescinded this month. For their wallets. Not for Humanity. Piss on that I say!

I appreciate your optimism. I think mine has been a little damaged along the way especially because of policy with DRM and net neutrality. Open Standards and an open web cannot coexist with ownership policies based on capitalistic ideals or nationalistic ideas.

Wouldn't it be nice to think that the hard work for #webstandards and #a11y we all have done might actually have taken root in a major corporation?

I'm going to have to figure out what to do with all this #artTherapy stuff I'm making. My apartment is big enough for me and honey and that's about it! I'm loving the colors and the texture of paint is fascinating. Layering areas of thick and those of thin different brush styles.

I'm leaning toward confidence. There are some very good people in accessibility at Microsoft now. :-)

I go so far as to say if you are prone to any form of obsessive behaviors that you should stay the hell away from book writing. I feel like I worked so hard and all of it is obsolete or gone or irrelevant. Just not the best part of my career that remains in the human connection.

You know it sounds nice and I had many opportunities to do it. I don't think I would have been able to work in idyllic conditions. It would have been too distracting. For me coffee office computer and messaging for asking more knowledgeable friends or connecting with editors.

I guess I'm a little calloused to the romance of it at this point and forget what that felt like but I think I can remember a glimmer of it! ;-)

True my point applies beyond tech books into any kind of writing. Have realistic expectations about an end result or better - no expectations. Just aim high and keep true. It sounds like you've got the discipline part down and that's the hardest part at least as I experience it!
Incredibly strong outline. Help from editors as Mr. Meyer says! We have all learned the hard way on that one. Supportive work environment is very important. And don't put the "dead"" in "deadline" like I did. you don't have to write a library! 🤣

Editors are the unsung heroes and heroines of the industry. No question that without them I'd never have produced work much less so much of it. I'm laughing at Eric's common and he knows exactly why!

What an interesting comment! There is nothing romantic about writing Tech books. It's a lonely unprofitable for the most part. The gratification has to be from work itself and books do bring with them the opportunity to speak and expand a career so that's powerful.
