Such interesting histories and stories. I like this aspect of humanity - the unique experiences and histories: Our triumphs, pains and joys.

That makes me so sad for her, and for you as her son to see her suffer and cry. It is a myth that health is happiness or pain is punishment.

Fanaticism like that is human-born, not a natural way of being IMO. Extremists, fundamentalists - they exist all over and are all dangerous.

I like her. One of my brothers said I'm like an old version of her ;-)

We are cousins, Judaism and Islam are both Abrahamic and far closer. I am a Persian Jew in fact, likely Syrian.

I'm glad you read. And I'm sorry that life was hard on you, as it can be for so many. We correct what we can and aim high, the rest is life.

No, that's an awful answer from any spiritual leader. Dismissive and lazy. A true teacher (which is what Rabbi means) teaches us to cope!

Sad cuz I became a computer scientist and technologist. I had to overcome a lot. My father was the math/science genius. Lost him too young.

My family was odd. Father's family Orthodox/Chassidic; Mother's Conservative. Both atheistic. Sent me to Orthodox Yeshiva and let me choose.

Ignorance on them and blindness on me. And me being trusting and thinking I was helping when they were reading everything as a threat. ME!!!

Value people. Value justice. Value kindness. Value compassion, empathy and love. Money and power are illusionary, and create fearful people.

I no longer want to C.I.L.L. my landlord. He must be back on his meds. He came by today. I'm getting marble kitchen tops and backsplash too!

Isn't that incredible? I had no idea. We get so specialized even in the same general industry we miss things. This is Open, the way I dream.
