You're nicer than I am about this. We teach outright lies as history and pay teachers so little they don't know better or worse, don't care.
FB is not the only one. Google adwords, Twitter, almost all text social media revealing this. Image-based like Snapchat? So far, clean.

I believe we are in divisive times because courage is lacking in people who think they have to preserve their myths and sense of control.
I went through similar myself recently - and that was my conclusion. Disconnect. And a side of fear with ignorance worn as a badge of pride.
