Seems I took that "unexamined life not worth living" idea rather seriously, haven't I? No matter, the rewards are infinite.

Aren't humans impressive? :) The pre-Californiafied word "AWESOME" applies. This experience has me in awe of human capacity.

Thank you, Lou. It is amazing. 83!!! So much courage, so much strength. I love that woman so much - to be her daughter is an honor.

Adaptation asks flexibility. What we are today we might not have been yesterday, nor can we determine how we might behave tomorrow. Forgive!

What I'm seeing from this experience is that humans not only can change, they must change - adaptation IS survival.

Mom is coming out of that into reality. I think this is humanity's response to emotional trauma as well physical. It's both sad and joyous.

I have asked in the past if anyone had experienced losing a significant chunk of memory from illness or accident. I have ~ 18 blank months.

Through the act of caring for a husband and mother with significant conditions, I am being helped in my own challenges seeing their triumph.

It took a surgery and five months of chemo but my 83 year old mother is walking, talking and wholly herself again. It's stunning & humbling.

The human brain is a true marvel. Watching my mom come through brain cancer is close to literally mind-blowing. She is nearly 100% restored!

Yep. Delusional. The lot of them! That *is* what we call seeing and hearing things that aren't really there, right?
