The "lesser of two evils" issue is very much alive here indeed. Just like the US presidential race. Depresses me!

Anyone building software cannot compete without
#DRM
#EME
implemented. It forces a compliance, which is a bias. @amyw3c
@w3c
- thx for talk!

I'm not here to cause harm @amyw3c. I desperately want more authentic discourse from which we all learn an grow, not tear down. Thank you!

Better that browsers and developer software compete on features, not implementation. Browser World War I taught us this lesson. @amyw3c

We've had 20 years discussion about competition on the standards layer of implementation. We mostly agree it's a poor idea @amyw3c

In practice, it's the opposite @amyw3c Software vendors are forced to implement because to not do so means no competitive edge.

Here's how
#EME
in
#html5
plays for me: The
@w3c
made a decision. Many do not agree. Including
@EFF
so my statement is: Freedom > Standards!

Unless it must be done behind a curtain, a wall, a border, a boundary or an electric fence. If so, not playing. Open is accountable.

I'm rather concerned that people think this issue is about watching netflix and piracy. It's about USER rights.

My husband is dying due to war. All the hate in the world cannot justify the destruction of our human be-ing. Peace, please. People. Please?
