I want to reignite the Web Standards Project. I asked former leads about this, months ago. Nobody has said nay. What does the public say?

That is an excuse. I'm going to restore WaSP. What do you think?

OMG! That is great - I love random walks down memory lane. I don't remember any of it. Like it was another life!

That's a knife to the gut and I'm truly sorry that happened to you.

And I see myself quoted :) I didn't know about THIS and OMG it just adds to the list of crap. Time to organize!
Thank you. The industry isn't the same nor am I. That I have to seek out a niche at all is evidence of fragmentation.
The Web community saved me. Supported me through a horrific illness. I'm strong because of you! Alive because of you. Please don't waste me.

I'm absolutely shocked, in part because I always want to believe the best of people, in part perhaps because my skin got thin.

In the past days, people have been contacting me (due to a w3cmemes thing) with all the horror stories of who did what to whom.

How can we have a conversation about the ethics and standards of Web industry when its figureheads are not ethical and have no standards?

Seriously, is it my thinner skin or is what I'm hearing on back channels about some of my Web heroes as appalling as I think? What happened?
