I think if I sign it, it goes down in value for being "marred" but sure ;-)
What was that again, Zen of CSS wha? LOL - I don't disagree we need to fight. I also think we have no real leadership anymore.
DRM cannot be part of any open specification. A control in place based on economic advantage? Straight up antithesis of Open. @AaronToponce

I was on site for W3C as staff. After more than ~ 12 years in WG's, in part why I decided a staff role is not for me and left.
In March, The @EFF and @FSF protested @W3C over #ETE. I happened to be on site and it disrupted a lot of my perspectives.
What? Being fluffy isn't at all a reason to feel bad about oneself. And if one has no "vice" at all, well that's far worse! ;-)

You keep complaining I might just have to hop a plane (an hour flight from me) and join you in some of that complaining! ;-)

In the ideal, I agree with you. I remain deeply divided and upset at what happened at M.I.T in March between @W3C @EFF & @FSF.

Browsers MUST implement open specs IMO. Feature sets can be the competitive area. I often use car safety specs as an allegory.

Accessibility is fundamentally about equal access, @gripusa. I see access as an inherently necessary part of all forms of human expression.

And that's how it should be! I'm beside you. #Browsers aren't a contest to me. It's about quality of craft! @vivaldibrowser

There are many examples of closed-source technology that has been both free and contributory to #TheCommons. Meritocracy beats ideology IMO.

Aaron expresses a more than fair opposing view to open vs. closed source software. Thanks @AaronToponce! nitter.vloup.ch/AaronToponce/sta…

Yes - I call that the "cart before horse" methodology of how the Web was made. We are positioned better now.
Specs solve technical implementation issues. They do nothing on the interface or feature layer. That's good!
I think we need to re-examine what "#OpenWeb" really is - it does NOT mean "Free" nor is it the SAME as "Open Source" - commonalities, yes.

Early days in a browser's evolution @MarcoInEnglish? *Exactly* the right time to have a discussion like this. @vivaldibrowser is listening.

You're not wrong @AaronToponce. Proprietary isn't either when serving The Commons. Tabs? Sidebars? #a11y features? See: @opera under @jonsvt
