Within the species. For example, my genetic profile and yours are far more alike than Pixel's and another doggie. :)
I also only recently learned that humans are comparatively the least genetically diverse species (or mammal, #lazyweb)

Totally makes sense. The incredible genetic and behavioral diversity among canine and feline friends is impressive.

We are overrun with rabbits too - famous for their procreational activity :) The real fun rabbits are our HUGE jackrabbits!
Exactly - we get a special box from the Humane Society to catch safely, then they get free neuter/spay and immunizations :)

Most of us in the neighborhood participate in a catch and care. We bring them in for healthcare and release.

It's so horrible and cruel. I think they are just too lazy to take them in so they mate and proliferate.

Feral cats are a big problem in my area. The Humane Society is close. People leave the babies in the street!

Didnt' know that! Through domestication, tho I thought cats are generally predators whereas dogs scavengers? @davidbrunelle

It's funny how that plays out. We're led to believe dogs rule cats. Anyone who has shared life with both knows better ;-)
