No. This was a mistake in my eyes then and in hindsight I am not wrong. We need independent leadership desperately.
Our work here is done. It’s your turn now. webstandards.org/2013/03/01/…

Thxya @annevk much to think about! The forking issue - Where is ownership? What measures compliance? Does it matter?
Replying to @mholzschlag
@mholzschlag to be perfectly clear, @WHATWG is still going strong. We just call it the @htmlstandard.

@chriseppstein Unfortunately, we seem to be hopping from "Big Pharma" directly to "Big Green Pharma" - big money in #cannabiz @rachelandrew
Replying to @chriseppstein
@chriseppstein @rachelandrew not here! You're lucky if they're not in suits and ties. 'Cannabiz' is alive and growing quickly in Arizona 👍😎💚

@nice2meatu @rachelandrew Arizona is an active Medical cannabis state. I keep an eye on global policy as awareness about #mmj erm, "grows."

@rachelandrew so there you were, a dignified human-being wanting to choose a safer way to control your pain. And YOU are the problem? Right.
Replying to @rachelandrew
@rachelandrew it's fine to give people meds with horrible side effects, easy to overdose on, addictive, deadly despite far safer botanicals.

@christopherdan funny how that works isn't it. We get stuck in these loops and still cannot accept the only way out is to Break and Escape!
@christopherdan it's difficult to think that George Orwell's 1984 was a far milder allegory than anything we could come up with for 2016 :-(

@WasabiFlux Fair point, but if I got real specific about the opiate problem, we'd cut right into literally the most foul bits of our bodies!

@shepazu I very much want open discussion with everyone! Absolutely. Thank you for the clarification. I didn't want to cause any concerns.

I love it! Bring it! @shepazu - I am merely clarifying intent as it came as a shock to learn that some find me a malicious, incapable human.
Replying to @shepazu
My intention @shepazu is only to assist the @w3c in its focus at a difficult 20+ year mark. Focus on what is done well: member-driven specs.

@shepazu I'm not launching an anti-campaign and do not require being managed. That would yet again be a waste of precious @w3c resources.

@fdevillamil @csswg Ha! Enduring by day. At night? Always fine wine with lovely food and top-shelf liquor. Tequila was popular my last year.

My recommendation: @w3c focus on member-driven spec dev. Public policy, social ideologies and global vision fall outside scope at this time.

In fact, it was the good years in @csswg that reinforced my love of consensus-driven spec dev. Argumentative, but peer to peer and OPEN!

I do worry about the immediate value of a member-driven @w3c. Focus We do specs and quality of craft. Perhaps it's unwise to try to do more.
Doug's take on @w3c working group transparency and I agree - the WG's are far more open now overall which is great!

@mholzschlag when I joined @w3c, working groups were member-only. 8+ years later, public is the norm schepers.cc/opening-standard… #stiilneedswork
