@alizardx If we all sit back and continue to let it happen, we do make the decision.

@shelleypowers LOL! Yes.
Please don't start comparing the problems with the UK NHS with US Healthcare. The two are not comparable. We never had NHS. We PAY.

While I agree UK NHS is heading for collapse, is that because there isn't enough money, or because where money is being funneled.

US and UK spending on healthcare v. military demonstrates sickness: We are so happy to let people die, we'll pay more for killing than life.

Replying to @aebadirad
@aebadirad That makes no sense. It's a balance of resources skewed to where it's helpful for the few and not the many. Always has been.
@asbig And yet I'm advocating on your behalf. Why would you think you are even close? You still have NHS in the UK. We never did. EVER.
@asbig Please don't make light of it. I'm living it. You're not.

@asbig When you can't get treated for a mortal illness, lose job, home, dignity and end up deeply in debt for the honor then you're close.
@asbig I'm sorry, but the UK is not even remotely close to US healthcare woes. That it's becoming more like it and at an alarming rate, yes.

@FlamingMagma jQuery is on the "must add" list from IT/IS board. I'm fine with that, but no real Javascript in the degree program is crazy!
@asbig Well, if you have ANY choice, do everything you can. We didn't have any choice in the US. What remains our #1 domestic issue? Yeah.
Replying to @yatil
@yatil I can't. I am recommending full JS. But this has to fit the educational rubric, which I didn't set and cannot affect change with yet.

@slightlylate @padolsey This is helpful. I have to have jQuery there (request from above) but this puts some sense into the nonsense. Thx!
1
@slightlylate @padolsey To change that rubric takes years. It has to fit multiple degrees. The program itself won't be updated for a decade.
Replying to @slightlylate
@slightlylate @padolsey WE know that. But the instructional rubric for webdev is build by IT/IS not Webfolk. I have to make best decisions.

Recall box model hacking? @t's "ethical hacks" included removal of hack when no longer relevant. We don't do this with polyfils and mixins.
Replying to @padolsey
@padolsey That would make ME very happy for one. Frameworks, polyfills, mixins and fixins are piss poor choices for the long long term.

@jdeisenberg They're gonna get the Javascript as Language lecture first. Then I have to include Frameworks (BY demand, FYI)
