@kevdog Especially compared with general attitudes in the industry say, a decade ago? Far less optimism overall and people do seem to agree.

@kevdog That we are at a low point in human history is indisputable. I do think we are at a crossroads in our industry specifically as well.
The @w3c invites @fsf to discuss #DRM in #HTML - I speak only for ME: working WITH is always better than against. bit.ly/21nPmA6

@Raelshark @adamhepton Sleep is healing. Of this I know, I passed out for a few years there ;-) Here's to better health and morale for all!
@adamhepton @Raelshark Yeah, I liked Twitter more when it was less crowded and this sort of chat happened more, at least we're having it :)

@idea15webdesign @WebGuildSeal Great! Looks very consumer-friendly by raising people to a level of professional conduct. MUCH needed.

Do folks think #webdev in general is in a state of depression for many more due to a more fragmented platform, or a lost sense of "NEW!" ?

@jrobertson Freedom does come at a price, indeed. I think it may be time to look at reducing the pain of backstepping.
@adamhepton @Raelshark I think that's a really good description of depression, FWIW! "Knitting fog"

@idea15webdesign Thanks for the link. I was translating a white paper from Swedish on the same topic, not quite as graceful for me ;-)

@idea15webdesign Yes, I did some research and it's astonishingly, erm, depressing!
@adamhepton If truer words were ever writ! It is /the people/ that make or don't make something work. @Raelshark
@adamhepton @Raelshark Human problems are iterative, it makes sense to address them in an iterative process. I encourage this myself.

@adamhepton @Raelshark Deadlines do put enormous pressure onto people, and it's front-loaded so the expectation is always high pressure.

@Raelshark @adamhepton Very true. This is why "group as a whole" approaches might benefit all. I'm interested to the tie-in with agile.
@adamhepton Interesting! I've not really compared the two as separate, since every agile environment I've worked in has been hybridized.
@adamhepton How about morale in terms of the team as a whole?
@adamhepton That's an excellent way to manage the individual issues - and I am glad you take the time to actually do that (most leads don't)
Systemic and organizational depression usually emerges due to lack of money, lack of skilled humans, lack of morale and poor leadership.

@dotmariusz I like that description and think it's accurate for me - and anyone or orgs that are basically upbeat and optimistic at heart.
