I now have a new diagnosis "Medically induced blood disorder." Which is gonna cost a lot to treat - I'm starting to feel conspiracy vibes.

Bloodwork: WBC 1.2 / RBC 2.72 / Hemoglobin 9.2 / Hematocrit 28 / Platelets 17,000. All dropping. I'll be in a plastic bubble soon.

That didn't last long. Back on Procrit and I feel like crap. Every joint, bone and muscle is screaming at my head, which is screaming back.

Was reading about that @jalbertbowdenii. India especially produces quality generic at shockingly lower cost. World Health Org is advocating.

I can get in on a trial or compassion program that covers the cost. I'm glad Criminal Minds is on tonight. Something to lighten the mood ;)

And now for the punchline: Cost of new med? 1,000.00 a pill. $180,000.00 for the full treatment. People, don't get sick with rare illnesses.

That's what I get for holding out on all this #tucson sunshine and warmth. Here, have some! I'm sorry I was a selfish, mean child!

I know intellectually *I* didn't fail, but much misery just to hear "Stop, you're done. Right now." It's difficult and really scary. [3]

Now six more weeks of bed rest and if blood is better a new six month protocol with a brand new drug that's just been cleared by the FDA [2]

Even on Procrit and Neupogen my bloodwork continues to worsen. Treatment is stopped as of today to see if I can make blood on my own. [1]

I have a confession. It was ME who changed the global thermostat. So yes, I 'bumped' the switch. It's 76F here and sunny. AND I'M NOT SORRY!

HBO's True Detective FTW. Matthew McConaughey is doing some of the best work of his life and Woody Harrelson is deliciously understated.

Someone at @LabCorp where I get my bloodwork done MUST change that outgoing message. Guy says "LabCorpse" - it's only funny a few times!

@jillyrocket @Piratenpartij Amgen is the company. The 9,000 USD is for my particular treatment - cost and drug can vary between patients.

Replying to @markboulton
It's patents @markboulton - so long as the pharma co's have 'em, they can do pretty much what they want. Dear Amgen, I'll take my meds free!
