I have mixed feelings about Breaking Bad, but they have more to do with with a hatred of what meth does to people than the show.

Anyone have some good TV suggestions? I like epic serial dramas. I also need more comedy. Non-US suggestions welcome.

I feel very fortunate that I live in a state with medical marijuana. Those pills are far more dangerous and less effective. 420 FTW!

From a tech-savvy patient POV - I see immediate benefits such as reduced anxiety, improved communication and self-care management.

Very interesting, thanks for the article. I worry medical documentation management is gonna get a lot worse before it improves!

You're way ahead of compliance (cool!) HITECH won't be enforceable until the 23d of this month, and I don't think it'll be pretty.

We of the Web could run naked relays for medical info exchange. That'd be hella more private than FAX - no one would want to look! ;) ;) ;)

Oh yer all crackin' me up over here! Carrier pigeons, smoke signals and paper airplanes are far more private than FAXs.

@Fireprooftech I have no doubts! Soon as I asked my sweet, mellow Doc he got all unmellow and I got a taste of how much doctors love it, too

@Fireprooftech User-unfriendly! I'm not sure tons of FAXs lying around is exactly "secure" either ;)

At least there are corners of documentation work going on in medical research using Semantic Web and Ontologies that are exquisite

HIPPA (US rules for medical privacy) has rejected email and electronic docs for info exchange. Recommendation? FAX. Waddya think 'bout that?

Today I made the decision to not be placed on transplant lists for marrow or organs should my treatments be less than successful.

I woke up thinking it was Yom Kippur, started counting my sins. Yom Kippur is tomorrow. It's ok. I need the extra day to fit all my sins in.
