I did slow down on the live shows (other than DJs/House/Groove/Chill gigs) by end of the 90s. Just can't deal with the crowds any more.

Chet Atkins with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra - very special, unique and memorable show.
Brian Setzer with a full on rockabilly band. Rocked that stage. Here's an 80's one: Gang of Four. Also, Todd Rundgren, with a full choir.

@Juvenall really bad. Jagger's voice sucked more than usual and there was no passion in that show. When he's on fire, seems the band follows

@Gargy Humble Pie, loved 'em when full on.
@gv_design I remember exactly that moment! I was at a neighbor's house playing when it came on TV. In black and white, of course. Amazing.
Oh, here's a GREAT one from my memory banks, and surely one of the most hilarious shows ever: Iggy Pop. Also in Phoenix, at a club.

Oh, George Thorogood and The Destroyers opened for the 1981 Rolling Stones show in Phoenix. Stones showed up late, Jagger was being an ass.

@AccessibleJoe Nice list! Never saw Cream (or Clapton), Cocker, Young, or Procol Harum. When did you see Sabbath?

@pameladyer Never was a huge country pop fan but I've seen Lyle Lovett and very much would like to see Dixie Chicks. Good stuff.

@natalierooke Nah - I'll share my memories if you give me some youthful optimism. Don't age yourself - it hurts.
Replying to @someothercraig
@someothercraig Not to mention hawkers, vendors, scalpers and other nefarious business that goes on around the music scene.

@pameladyer Love the Indigo Girls, never saw them live. Did see the B52's live - what a riot of a show.

How could I forget this one: Bonnie Raitt and after her set, she duo'd with Stevie Ray Vaughn - great performance. Bittersweet memory now.
5
Some others spilling out of my memory: Van Halen with David Lee Roth, Steve Vai (love), Blues Traveler, The Black Crowes, Ani DeFranco.
