That's tragic! Education IS the reward. What, we get educated and stop? Learning is lifelong.

Agreed, although not with the language. You can't *have* a browser and platform specific Web. You can have a network. Not Web. :)

Each reader of this copy of Weaving the Web blogs or tweets or shares a thought (or a hundred) as the book travels the globe. Thoughts?

I have a Weave the Web idea. We create a snail mail list (OLD SKOOL FTW). We send the book to the next reader, one at a time. We track it.

This disillusionment happened to me in the post civil rights era too. I'm so easily led toward grand ideals, silly child that I am.

The message of needing better interface design is a critical one,
@ladylexy
. I'm with you 100%. Education is critical, and we lack that.

This is why I weep. Tim did such a noble thing to gift this to the world. If we let that gift go uncared for, we are the fools.

Yes, I understand it's a joke. I'm not upset with you! The word "stupid." Speakers get taken out of context. We have to learn.

This is fragmenting ideologies and the Web. If you design for iOS only, you are an iOS designer, not a Web designer.

We are not gracefully widening to include mobile. We act as if it's a whole new thing and define apps by native or open with randomness.

Are you kidding me? Or maybe you're not doing a lot of device design?

Do you know the majority of my colleagues have never opened that book, much less cared to? This is a source of great pain to me.

If you create for one platform, and one browser, you are not creating the Web, full stop. Are you wrong? No. You're just not a Web dev.
