@smason Ideas are always laughable, and nothing is fixed and permanent. Haven't you ever had great ideas fail and bad ideas succeed?

@MarcDrummond Software *IS* a problem. Proprietary software/data formats is part of the rationale for the Web. *BangsHeadOnTable*
Are you developing *only* for Internet Explorer on Win, or are you developing for the Web? What do you believe the difference to be?

I don't care about profit, @frankjonen. I care about building a Web that helps humanity. Perhaps therein lies our difference.

Unfortunately, out of date educational publishers, @SteveBuell. This is why WaSP's InterACT and the EDU incubator group at #w3c need help.
@tucsonlabs I like that, but typically the focus with devs is understandably "how" and not both "how" and "WHY" - the "WHY" is critical.
