FedEx's use of color and symbols is exceptional. See the arrow between the E and the x? ;)

Yes, those are the core goals of any marketing, I'm referring to the delivery style.

:( Wasn't someone supposed to make me a sparkly wand so as the Web's Fairy Godmother I could wave all troubles away?

Yes, neutralize colors and language (avoid double entendres for example) and diversify symbols and images of people.

@aral Sometimes they nail it, and the videos they've made have been generally awesome.

Exactly, we'll make sure there's shade for those that need it, and sun for those that want it, and plenty of high-test sunblock too

If a company is trying to reach a global audience it must learn to use semiotics and language accordingly. Almost *opposite* of localization

No bribes necessary. Just show up at an event where me, @aral and
@brucel
are and we'll get a party started.

Campus crew and marketing are different beasts, @OperaNewZealand!
@opera

I talked a lot to Opera about how marketing for the US and in general had to diversify. "But we're Norwegian" doesn't cut it. /@aral

Quite seriously, I was never comfortable with Opera's marketing. Not only is it just the perfect girls, but perfect boys too. All white.
