I don't mind looking stupid @mikecane, particularly when I do something stupid. Me ol' mum taught me well: Never be afraid of being wrong.

@cswanger It's hard to articulate in 140 characters ;)

@mikecane I'm not worried about corruption in tech reporting. I'm worried about HUMAN ERROR, of which I am guilty every day.

@MMudassir Anyone with a following who is followed because of their knowledge sharing. Like me. I have to be accountable.

@cswanger I don't agree. It's not my stuff. Not when I'm talking tech. I have absolute accountability for my statements in that regard.

There's no real code of professional ethics surrounding #openWeb and sharing. We can say anything. People will believe it, even if untrue.

Really an interesting topic. Accountability for information sharing in social, free-form communication influencers, teachers, leaders.

@MMudassir Agreed! For me, it's different due to my public role and desire to teach/share. Accuracy is important but not always possible.

@ibrahimlawal That is extremely true. Once the tweet is out there, there really is no true taking it back.

@jongold Oh my. Meeting people F2F has *never* saved my reputation!

@MMudassir "My Content, My Rules" - yep, I agree! As a teacher/sharer of knowledge however, it's not really my content. That's the issue.

@jamespoling They'll learn ;) I do feel there's a lot of responsibility and accountability for influencers. How to do so is the question.

@thrivesolo Lossy vs. Lossless algorithms, actually.

@ibrahimlawal or just wrong. As you said, we are all learning. I feel very responsible for my errors, but I make them. Oops, I'm human ;)
Yes, that's me, @jamespoling. Can't stop hiding stuff. Very difficult to get me to open up, too. Maybe I need more therapy? :P

@ibrahimlawal in theory I agree. The problem is if someone only finds that one tweet without looking at the larger context. Happens a lot.
Replying to @internuts
@internuts That doesn't sound like an asshat thing to write at all. I think that's exactly spot-the-fuck-on.
Replying to @ibrahimlawal
@ibrahimlawal Yes, I have no issues deleting DMs or things meant for DM that I make a mistake and send to public. What about public?

Wow. There are parts of my brain hurting from remembering my basic raster graphics knowledge. Talk about information left unused too long!
