Opera Mobile irrelevant? Ben, no disrespect but you need to do some research.

Can't argue that. Can only say that the lack of participation and dominance is antithetical behavior to Open Web.

I'm a proponent of both. They overlap a bit (Venn diagram, anyone?) but are very different things.

Well
@jeffblankenburg
the Amaya project
w3.org/Amaya/
touches on that - by the way, Skype tells me it was someone's birthday recently!

Opera's presto has dominated the mobile and device-related browsing since forever? I don't see that as being good either. Choice matters.

The W3C is a consortium that builds specs in an open way via patent exclusions and so forth. Not a software agency.

By putting those stressors out there, we risk "Open Standards" - the process of ensuring no intellectual property claims get made.

Any rendering engine dominance places stressors on the W3C and other browsers to implement features that have not been worked on together.

My concern is about the lack of consensus in regards to the standards process.

It's not that they'd stop supporting standards so much as running ahead with their own ideas on top of that, which they do.

My concerns play out as we have very few participants from Apple showing up at W3C meetings, and no one from WebKit.org itself I believe.

Despite the "open source" nature of WebKit, I fear its proliferation. Any dominance in browsers creates an imbalance.

oh my. Not a happy place. Can't you just get them to shut it off? I understand that's a two click process.

I plan on eating a lot of fish while here. I've been inland too long. It's great to be around water for a change.

I don't know why, but I seem to only have the NVIDIA GeForce 320M. Shouldn't I also have the Intel card? MBP 2010 unibody.
