I don't think Ayn Rand was anything like Socrates, @danoprey. I did admire her contrariness. I probably am more Rand-y (ha) then I think.

Yes @kaitfoley! Arendt was of a recent age, however. What about Western/Eastern core history/philosophy? I am not well educated in this.

With the right setup and process, @rawn, a great education like that should also include a long-term plan for students. Jobs, continuing ed.
