@gregnewman You might want to check your processes. I went straight to hardware, couldn't even imagine it being a software issue.

Wow, look at that. Known issue: kcy.me/42n6. As @diggersworld said, that's a lot of help! /@Sushubh

So killed that process, have no idea what happened there. Machine immediately cooled down. Let's see how it goes. Thanks everyone!

@mattkersley Yeah, I have a backup machine. It's going to have to go with which I want to avoid but guess I can't now.

@kapowaz Anyway to clean that easily myself?

@mattkersley Yeah, this definitely is not normal behavior for this particular machine.

The fans do seem to be working. That's how I began noticing the problem, they're running almost constantly.

@mattkersley this one's on a full charge and has always run rather surprisingly cool.

My MBP has decided to start running very hot, especially top left near power source. No time to find a genius before I travel. Any ideas?

I actually went to bed at 12am, but my body refuses to be asleep at 4am. Ever. Anywhere, any time zone, any level of fatigue. So very odd.

"I pirate open source software" - @pal_nes. Pretty funny. Makes me wonder, Pål if like me you must rebel against your own rebelliousness.

@KeriHenare that's essentially my point. No browser is really 'stable" or precise by any true measure. You make choices based on your needs.
Replying to @KeriHenare
@KeriHenare Yes, that's the critical issue IMO. Many devs choose FF because of tooling and stable standards. Designers often love webkit etc

@JudsonCollier I think it's just the fact that to get something really clean that's a mess, you make another mess along the way.

@whyiesucks Current browsers are evolving. There is no equivalency algorithm that can factor in what tomorrow's feature might be.

@pal_nes I yearn for Homesite. I'm on Macs more these days but what I would do for an updated version of that brilliant editor.

@KeriHenare You can measure performance. But does that equal good experience? It really depends on the user.

No browser is better than another. It's illogical to think otherwise in regards to evolutionary software. It's the experience that matters.

@Steven495 It's trying to rebirth itself as a more compliant browser. It has so much legacy code, PR, workarounds it is indeed a lofty goal.
