@meriwilliams I don't want limits being placed on educator/student discourse lest we "offend" or "cause problems." Uni is about exploration.

@meriwilliams I think it's fair to say we've both been fortunate in education, work hard and made good use of the opportunities afforded us.

@mikecane That story was an example of the core of what I'm working to express here. I wonder if at heart it simply isn't censorship.

@meriwilliams You're both educated and a very productive person. An extraordinary person, in fact. What do you want/envision in education?

@meriwilliams I have an MA in Media Studies from a very progressive Uni and I earn accordingly. I will still die with student debt unpaid.

@mikecane I'm simply saying I prefer no imposition of limits in education due to profit agendas. People are then free to explore WHATEVER.

@meriwilliams I wouldn't disagree, other than to suggest there's probably more than two issues in the discussion. Can you give examples? :)

@boagworld The simplicity and appropriateness of social responsibility on each of our parts is an inarguable point in my own world view.
@mikecane I can't even imagine what I wrote to come across as a person who judges others on any merit other than who they are!
Replying to @aknecht
@aknecht I am well! Challenging times, but watching real action over complacency is restoring my hope, despite the heartbreak it brings too.

@urbenkeach NZ Sav Blancs are heaven in a bottle. I love them with a passion that borders on the fanatic. :: fills glass, passes it over ::
@mikecane It's perhaps what I want to aspire to - I prefer a "no expectations" policy when it comes to human beings individually.

@migrosch ROFL. Oops, I won't be doing that again.
@mikecane And how do car mechanics learn? Oft-times, on their own, from their dads, friends, etc., or in trade schools. Argument holds.
I'm Jewish as most know. That aside, the Christian Left's blog is one of the most interesting to follow lately: thechristianleft.org/ #ows

@martijnvdven We get that too. Teaching to the average keeps people average.
