Is it really education when the teaching objective is to teach only one, typically Western-dominated, culturally biased canon for profit?
That experience left me with a bad taste as an educator-particularly with the New School's history in social research. All profit-based now.
As a professor at New School, I was told to "stop advocating and stick to the curriculum" Why? Because they didn't want to lose the MONEY.

@karlstolley I'm an educator and I can sing soprano in the choir of "these kids today" who think education is a right not a privilege. :)
@meriwilliams So the point is to create a balance between fair cost for fair education that results in fair jobs. Maybe a US-centric issue?

@meriwilliams Not at all. You can get a web design "degree" for 20K or more, but they teach you HTML 3.2 at best. At worst, not even.
