Asking for a "beer mat" in the US will result in most folks not understanding, some gleaning from context, a few who know.

Yep, "coaster" is used for both the cardboard and a more substantial beverage surface made of ceramic, wood, etc.

Ha! Sorry, you know I just couldn't help myself. It came right off the tips of my fingers and I hit "tweet" before I even realized it.

Interesting - I have lived all over the US and have never heard the term "beermat" used. Coaster is general use - tea, etc.

Coaster is the US term. A mat to me would be larger, like a placemat or a floormat. But not a microformat! That would be smaller ;)

To me, "beer coaster" would be the little cardboard bit placed under your glass, sometimes it's fancier, sometimes just paper napkins.

Not that I'm aware of just yet, no. I imagine it will be a day or more before we hear. Treasure our days, for they are fleeting.

You ARE the influencer ;) I can't believe there are jobs out there actually asking for Klout scores. What a bunch o' hooey.

All of the games I found are classics reformatted for Mac. So far, everything works great on my MBP. SO much fun.

Original Quake, Sim City 1989, Warcraft (orcs and humans) - I swear, if Dr. Sheldon Cooper were here he'd be almost as giddy as I am!

. It's actual rain. It's wonderful. It's a warm, steady, calming I'm curled up with kitty and tea kind of rain.
