Markdown makes great sense for many contexts. But writing markdown along the way to HTML seems odd to me when the authors all know HTML.

Years into using it I still wonder about the actual *value* of markdown if you're ultimately publishing HTML. Seems an extra step. Thoughts?

@photomatt quit that. You're making me drool, kiddo.
Why yes, @jcroft. As you well know, "boring" is an extraordinarily accurate word with which to describe yer Mols.
@jcroft Honey, I don't do war. I'm all about the love, always have been, always will be.
@jcroft Really? I never knew you to be funny before, so you know, I took it very, very, very seriously.

Specs do take time, but we're already using HTML5 and CSS3 now. UNFINISHED dudes. So you probably won't be dead or retired for markup.next.

My sweet @jcroft, I thought I'd be retired with XHTML 2. That means I'm deprecated, as I sure ain't retired. And I refuse obsolescence.

@ktguru There are currently 7 regular Cirque shows in Vegas! When I come here for family visits I usually avoid the city altogether.

@brianedsauer Add some whipped cream. It helps.

@mikecane Kind of like a virus. Quite seriously. Our immune system can at best only isolate and create antibodies. The virus stays with us.

@JoeC wow. Very interesting! I really do think it's not a one-size-fits-all thing. What works for me might be exactly what hurts another.

@ktguru I've seen O about 20 times, Mystere 7. So awesome. But I'm out at the Lake and it's very peaceful here.
Avoidance of pain is a perfectly rational option. The Pop-Psy idea that digging in the dirty past is a good thing has never served me well.
